About
In spite of occasional supply shortages during the pandemic, Hy-Vee Grocery Store has consistently met customer needs. Their deli counter and sushi offerings are both excellent. The cashier, Devon, provided exceptional service despite the busy and stressful environment. She was remarkably friendly and kind. Additionally, more self checkouts have been installed, resulting in smoother transactions for customers. This particular HyVee location stands out due to its extensive selection of vegan foods and specialty products.
Why you should go

Despite some short supply issues everywhere during the pandemic still, Hy-Vee has had what I needed. Their deli counter is great, and their sushi is good too!Our cashier, Devon, was amazing and very helpful. She was extremely kind for how busy it was and stressed she probably was. She was especially friendly and kind.More self checkouts have been added, and I usually checkout without an issue now!
High pricing. Sacked my own items. No help in the store. Probably why the prices are so high. Oh, wait that would be the reason there should be more help right! You corporations are all the same. Stuff more money in their pockets and provide shoddy services and expect the consumers to foot the bill. That's all folks.
This is my preferred HyVee as they tend to have more options for vegan foods and specialty products. My find on this visit was Pamela's Graham Crackers as I was making a gluten free dish for family. It saved me the hassle of making them from scratch! Store has a nice selection of everything.

- Engage with friendly staff members like Devon who can provide personalized assistance during busy times
Reviews
Hy-Vee Grocery Store receives mixed reviews from customers, with positive comments about the deli counter, sushi quality, helpful staff like Devon, vegan and specialty food options, bakery items like sheet cakes and raspberry desserts. However, there are complaints about out-of-stock issues in pick-up orders, raw bakery products like a strawberry rhubarb pie, high prices leading to self-bagging groceries without much assistance in-store. Despite some negative experiences with customer service and product quality at certain locations like Hy-Vee East, others appreciate the cleanliness of the store and friendly atmosphere.

Bakery did a fantastic job making a sheet cake for my mother in laws birthday! Got several positive comments.
It's nice that they offer less expensive store brand items. I saved about $10 on a raspberry dessert that I made for a church event.
