The Patriots picked off a Ben Roethlisberger pass in the end zone with time winding down to secure a 27-24 win over the Steelers on Sunday.

Pittsburgh had appeared to take the lead with 28 seconds to play when Roethlisberger connected with Jesse James for what would have been a 10-yard touchdown. But, following a replay review, the play was ruled an incompletion, setting up the game-sealing interception.

Both teams are now 11-3 with two games remaining in the regular season.

Tom Brady threw for 298 yards and a touchdown to lead the Patriots, while Dion Lewis rushed for a score. Rob Gronkowski pulled in nine catches for 168 yards for New England.

Ben Roethlisberger tallied 281 passing yards and two touchdowns for Pittsburgh in the losing effort. Steelers star wide receiver Antonio Brown left the game with a calf injury early in the second quarter and did not return.

Final score: Patriots 27, Steelers 24

7:18 p.m.: Turnover, Steelers. Roethlisberger’s pass is deflected and picked off by Patriots safety Duron Harmon in the end zone. New England takes a knee and holds on for a 27-24 win.

7:14 p.m.: Pittsburgh appears to score on its second play of the drive when Roethlisberger finds Jesse James at the 1 before he dives into the end zone. But after review, James was ruled to have bobbled the ball and the play is ruled an incompletion. The Steelers have it at the 10 with 28 seconds to play, trailing by three.

7:12 p.m.: It takes Pittsburgh one play to move into the red zone. Roethlisberger hits JuJu Smith-Schuster on a crossing route. Smith-Schuster breaks free and turns the short pass into a 69-yard gain. Pittsburgh has it at the New England 10.

7:09 p.m.: Touchdown, Patriots. New England punches it in on an 8-yard run by Dion Lewis. The Patriots go for two and convert on a pass from Brady to Gronkowski. New England now leads 27-24 with 56 seconds to play.

7:07 p.m.: The Patriots have moved all the way to the Steelers' 9 on three straight passes from Brady to Gronkowski.

7:02 p.m.: The Steelers go three-and-out and punt. The Patriots get the ball back at their 23 with 2:06 to play, trailing by five.

6:55 p.m.: Field goal, Patriots. Brady throws two straight incomplete passes and is sacked on third down. Stephen Gostkowski comes on and kicks a 46-yard field goal to cut the Steelers lead to 24-19 with 3:56 to play.

6:53 p.m.: Brady fails to connect with Gronkowski on a third-down pass from the Pittsburgh 44. But the Steelers are called for defensive pass interference, extending the Patriots drive.

6:45 p.m.: The Steelers are forced to punt after they are backed up by a holding penalty and a false start. The Patriots will start their drive at their 29 with 7:38 remaining.

6:39 p.m.: The Steelers convert on back-to-back third downs and they have it at their 39 with 10:20 to play.

End of third quarter: Steelers 24, Patriots 16

6:29 p.m.: The Steelers again manage to get pressure on Brady and he throws an incomplete pass on third down. New England punts and the Steelers will take over on their 3.

6:22 p.m.: Touchdown, Steelers. Pittsburgh converts New England’s turnover into a touchdown. Le'Veon Bell takes a handoff and punches it in from 3 yards out to give the Steelers a 24-16 lead with 1:33 to play in the third quarter.

6:18 p.m.: Turnover Patriots. The Steelers bring pressure on a third-and-2 play. Brady stays in the pocket and attempts to loft a pass to James White. But his throw is picked off by Steelers linebacker Vince Williams, who returns it to the Patriots' 22.

6:13 p.m.: The Steelers advance near midfield but are forced to punt after Roethlisberger fails to connect with Le'Veon Bell on a third-down pass. The Patriots will take over at their 11.

6:04 p.m.: Touchdown, Patriots. Brady finds Brandin Cooks in the end zone for a 4-yard score three plays after New England’s fourth down conversion. But Stephen Gostkowski misses the extra point and the Patriots trail 17-16.

6:01 p.m.: The Patriots come up short on a third-and-6 pass from Brady to James White. But, instead of kicking a field goal, New England elects to go for it. On the fourth-down play, Brady connects with Rob Gronkowski for a 10-yard gain to keep the drive alive. The Patriots now have it at the Steelers 6.

5:55 p.m.: Injury update. Antonio Brown has been taken to the hospital and will not return.

5:54 p.m.: We’re back for the second half in Pittsburgh. The Patriots will start the period’s opening drive at their 25.

5:40 p.m.: The Patriots take a knee on the final play of the quarter and Pittsburgh heads into halftime leading by a touchdown.

5:34 p.m.: Touchdown, Steelers. Pittsburgh drives 78 yards and chews up over 8:30 of game action before Martavis Bryant pulls in a Roethlisberger one-handed for a 4-yard touchdown. The Steelers take a 17-10 lead with 25 seconds to play before halftime.

5:26 p.m.: Update: Antonio Brown suffered a calf injury.He is questionable to return.

5:16 p.m.: Field goal, Patriots. New England moves into the red zone on a 12-yard catch by Danny Amendola. But Brady throws back-to-back incompletions and New England settles for a 32-yard field goal from Stephen Gostkowski to tie the score at 10-10.

5:07 p.m.: Field goal, Steelers. Roethlisberger is sacked for an 8-yard loss on third down. Chris Boswell enters and kicks a 51-yard field goal to give the Steelers a 10-7 lead with 12:15 to play in the half.

5:05 p.m.: Antonio Brown takes a hit in the end zone on an incomplete pass and stays down following the play. Brown is helped to the sidelines by medical personnel.

5:02 p.m.: Martavis Bryant beats his defender down the sideline and pulls in a 39-yard pass from Roethlisberger, moving the Steelers to the New England 17.

4:46 p.m.: Touchdown, Steelers . Ben Roethlisberger leads Pittsburgh on an eight-play, 69-yard drive that ends with an 18-yard touchdown pass to Eli Rogers. Roethlisberger completed four pass of 10 yards or more on the drive. New England and Pittsburgh are now tied 7-7.

4:29 p.m.: The Steelers pick up one first down on a 17-yard pass from Ben Roethlisberger to Le'Veon Bell. But Roethlisberger follows with an incompletion on third down and Pittsburgh punts.
