Wisconsin’s class of 2025 landed a marquee talent on Thursday: four-star linebacker Mason Posa.
The Albuquerque, New Mexico native is 247Sports’ No. 154 player in the class of 2025, No. 18 linebacker and No. 1 recruit from the state of New Mexico. He is commitment No. 18 for Wisconsin in the class of 2025 and is immediately the Badgers’ highest-rated player.

Posa choosing the Badgers over finalists Oregonand marked a significant recruiting win for Luke Fickell and his coaching staff.
Fickell’s introduction to Wisconsin in 2022 included talk of recruiting prowess that the Badgers program had not yet seen. The early returns say Fickell backed up much of that surrounding talk, as the new head coach and his staff first finished the2024 cycle with a top-25 class and the Badgers’ first-ever group with a blue-chip ratio of 50%.
That momentum has carried into 2025, where Wisconsin already has a strong group with more top targets still remaining on the board.
